General Health Practices for Families

Women
- Primary Care Physician (PCP) – Every Year (general health, blood work, and screenings
- Gynecologist – Every Year (Pap smear every 3 years if normal, HPV testing every 5 years, yearly checkups for reproductive health)
- Dentist – Twice a year (cleanings, checkups)
- Optometrist/Ophthalmologist – Every 1-2 years (annually if vision problems)
- Dermatologist – Every Year (skin checks for moles, acne, or skin concerns)
- Mammogram Screening – Every Year starting at 40 (family history of breast cancer go earlier)
- Mental Health Professional – As needed (for stress, anxiety, depression, or therapy)
Men
- Primary Care Physician (PCP) – Annually (for general health, blood work, screenings)
- Urologist – As needed. Symptoms like your stream taking long to start, frequent trips to the restroom but only a little coming out. (or annually after age 40 for prostate health)
- Dentist – Twice a year (cleanings, checkups)
- Optometrist/Ophthalmologist – Every 1-2 years (annually if vision issues)
- Dermatologist – Every Year (skin checks for moles, acne, or skin concerns)
- Mental Health Professional – As needed (for stress, anxiety, depression, or therapy)
Children (0-18 years)
- Pediatrician – Every Year (for growth checks, vaccines, and general health) as an infant, your pediatrician will educate you on appointments needed
- Dentist – Twice a year (cleanings, checkups)
- Optometrist – Every 1-2 years (or sooner if vision concerns arise)
- Dermatologist – As needed (for eczema, acne, or skin concerns)
- Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) Specialist – If needed (frequent ear infections, breathing issues)
- Orthodontist – As needed (typically around age 7+ for potential braces or bite issues)
