5 Ways to serve God in your Everyday Life
- Start by inviting God into your daily routines.
- Before getting out bed pray “God, guide my day.”
- Ask Him, “How can I serve You in this moment?”
- While doing your daily task, pause and ask ” Is there someone I can encourage today?”
- Whether you’re cooking dinner, folding laundry, or tending to your children, it all matters to Him.
- Turn on worship music as you cook, or thank God for each family member as you fold their clothes.
- This will shift the atmosphere. It turns that attitude to gratitude, very quickly!

- Ask God to show you how to turn the ordinary moments into grateful moments.
- Ordinary Moment: You’re stuck in traffic on the way home from work. You’re tired, irritated, and just want to get home.
- Grateful Moment: Instead of stewing in frustration, you pause and pray, “God, help me see this moment differently.” You take a breath and realize:
- You have a car to drive. You have a job to go home from. You have a home to return to. You have this quiet time to listen to music, a podcast, or even sit in silence.
- Suddenly, what felt like a waste of time becomes a sacred pause—an unexpected moment to slow down and give thanks.
- You don’t need a stage to serve—you just need a willing heart.
- Text a friend/family member that’s struggling or on your mind– let them know you’re praying for them, and thinking of them.
- It’s the little things like that, that make the most impact.

So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.
