Finding Faith in Frustration
I’ve been finding myself feeling discouraged and disappointed in my wilderness season. I’m calling it wilderness because it’s a season of isolation, feeling lost, and asking God, “Are you still here?”
This week, I’ve felt frustrated. Not the kind of frustration that last a few minutes, not kind you can shake off with a nap or a quick prayer, but the deep kind—the kind thats leaving me questioning everything I thought I heard from God. The kind of frustration that makes my whole life feel turnt upside down. His promises feel like I gotta swim to Asia to make them reality.
I’ve wrestled with so many emotions and thoughts like: God, are You even listening? Did I hear You wrong? Why does everything feel so wrong right now? Girl, maybe you’ve been here too—sitting in a wilderness season, clinging to hope with weeping eyes, trying to remember what He said when everything around you is screaming the opposite. Girl it’s not easyyyy at all. Walking by faith, has been so hard for me.
But here’s what I’m learning: faith doesn’t always look bold and confident. And it FOR SURE AIN’T CUTE! Sometimes it looks like showing up when you don’t feel Him at all.
In this season, I’ve had to remind myself (daily) that being upset will change nothing, even when my heart wanted to shut down— I have to stay persistent and seek him. And I’ve also had to lean on my sisters—people rooted deep in their walk with God who could speak life over me when I don’t have the words myself. Girl, if I don’t know nothing else, I know community is mandatory with this walk in God! Trust me. There’s strength in community, especially when your faith feels fragile.
If you’re feeling frustrated, hopeless, or unsure right now—I want you to know this: you’re not alone! I’m with you too! & Most importantly God is still there, even when he’s quiet. He’s still working, even when you can’t see it.
This isn’t the end of your story—it’s just a chapter. And God is still writing.
❤️ XOXO, Gracelynn

A Quick Prayer for the Frustrated Heart:
God, I’m tired. I’m frustrated. Help me to stand on your word and your promises. I’m trying so hard to hold on, but it’s so frustrating when I can’t understand you’re doing. Comfort me with your presence. Give me the strength to trust you when nothing makes sense. Place people around me who can speak faith into my doubt. Help me to believe again—because You’ve never failed me, and I know you won’t start now. I want your will to be done, please send the Holy Spirit to guide me. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen.
