13 TIPS to have more Joy in Mom + Wife Life

Moma, here’s permission to fill your cup up first! BECAUSE YOU CAN’T POUR FROM AN EMPTY CUP!

For so long, I gave every ounce of myself to everyone. That left me bitter, angry, mean, and feeling entitled for others to pour into me the same way. I would get so upset because I felt like I went beyond and above for everyone, but not no one did the same for me. Yesterday I gave myself a pep talk, it’s time to get it together Gracelynn Bell! So here’s a list of my new non-negotiables when it comes to myself. 

  1. Read your bible!
  2. Drink your water
  3. Stay committed to yourself
  4. Move your body 
  5. Eat better to fuel your body and not satisfy your eyes 
  6. Wake up before your kids/husband to fill your cup first, so that you can pour life and happiness into them
  7. Take a second to respond, before you react to others 
  8. You will love. Love is patient and kind. 
  9. You will take care of yourself. Make your doctor’s appointments (Here’s a link to what I suggest for your family)
  10. You will pamper yourself! This can be manicures, pedicures, waxes, scheduled hair appointments, or something new just because!
  11. Create a capsule wardrobe. Because when you look good, you feel good!
  12. Run your family like a business. Keep inventory on your life as if y’all are a well oiled machine.  
  13. Girl, get to get back to you! 

I’ve neglected myself so much, and it’s not healthy or helpful to anyone in myself. I’m sure you can resonate in some type of way! I hope this list is helpful, as I preach to you, girl I’m talking to myself as well! I think this is gonna be a series for me! Because this will be a journey of loving myself again!
